Michael Greitzer, A.J. Braman (at the Gallery Cabaret, Chicago)
Meeting in September of 2012, Greitzer and Braman became long-distance writing partners on ‘Pushcart Tony’, a musical drama that covered 57 years of Chicago history and included 27 songs. Braman was at the time a piano sideman on a cruise ship, while Greitzer remained in Chicago, completing the script and lyrics of the play. “That meant file sharing online” Greitzer says, “not ideal, but doable.”

Braman, now plays Las Vegas and still travels the world, while Greitzer, just out of Nashville (releasing a CD: ‘Songs By Crow), roams the Pacific Northwest, due north of his writing partner. He says, “No joke–the score for ‘American Road’ was written with American road trips! It was–like ‘Pushcart’–a labor of love.”
