AMERICAN ROAD is an original musical drama inspired by the people, events, and ideals that shaped the United States of America. Through chapter storytelling and music, the songs of the play explore the endearing questions that have defined the American experience: our liberty, our unity and division, our innovation and achievements.
The play is led by the spirit of our indispensable Founding Father, Dr. Benjamin Franklin, who, upon his deathbed in 1790, is touched by an Angel named Grace, rejuvenated to youth, and dispatched upon a grand path to see the future of his infant country unfold.
AMERICAN ROAD seeks to entertain, educate, and inspire while fostering a deeper appreciation for the complexity of our history, the compass of our cultivated success, and the aspirations and challenges of the American experiment.
This Republic, as Franklin professed centuries ago, is ours to keep, if we can.
“Come now, Benjamin Franklin, out of your deathbed. I will make you young again. You will now walk down the winding path of your new country…the American Road.”

Braman to produce a story and score they were so excited to power over the finish line. “Both of us were very busy with other projects”, says Greitzer, “but we had talked about this play before–and found ourselves close to one another in the country. We took on familiar roles, writing and composing, until the timeline was complete. It was great working together again.”(>MORE)
